REFLECTION

A Journey Through History and Theory...

My first semester of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture has been completely transformed by the Architecture History and Theory module. The tutorial tasks, evaluations, and lectures provide a comprehensive method for comprehending the development of architecture. My ability to apply theoretical concepts in real-world circumstances was tested by the projects and tutorial exercises, which helped me develop a stronger understanding of the material.

When considering the learning platform, it is clear that the integration of in-person meetings, MyTIMeS, Facebook, and Telegram produced a dynamic and adaptable atmosphere. This multifaceted strategy improved accessibility and promoted insightful dialogues. My instructor, Mr. Azim, and the module coordinator, Dr. Lia, were both very helpful. Tutorials were enhanced by Mr. Azim's enthusiasm and perceptive advice, while Dr. Lia's organisational abilities offered a well-organized and cohesive learning environment.

I advanced significantly and achieved many Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) in just 14 weeks. I have first earned the TGC 3.0: Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving abilities. The capacity for critical and creative thought was demonstrated when examining architectural features in relation to historical settings. My grasp of the value of comprehensive research and information synthesis in advancing architectural comprehension and guiding design decisions has enabled me to pursue lifelong learning (TGC 2.0). The curriculum emphasises the importance of extensive research and data utilisation, which highlights essential information retrieval and synthesis abilities. Additionally, engaging in tutorials, projects, and online platforms refines effective communication in many settings and modalities (TGC 4.0). My perspective has been widened by these realisations, which will surely influence my future architectural endeavours.
